About Me

Welcome to my website... I design paper piece quilt patterns of the Temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I started out by helping out one of our young women with one of her projects. (Thanks, Allison) She loves quilting and wanted to quilt a temple. Due to much encouragement from friends and family members, the patterns are here for you today. If you have tried quilting or sewing before, you will be a natural at these patterns. But if you haven't, have no fear. Paper piecing is easy to learn and fun to do, even my 7 and 11 year old daughters paper piece. My 4 year old is still a little young or she would be quilting too.

That was me just about 1 year ago. One year later and a whole lot wiser, it is time to get that off the front page of the website. But for those of you who are way too curious or have too much time on your hands there it is for you. I have been quilting off and on all my life. My first quilt was made for girls camp in the Whittier 7th Ward in California, about XX many years ago. I made a couple log cabin quilts right after my wedding that my mom so graciously bought from me to make ends meet. I didn't really start up again until 2 years ago when Lois Schauweker taught a quilting class in the Allen 3rd ward in Texas. Then I learned to do right what I had been doing for many years. Thank you Lois!

Then it was on to paper piecing. I know real quilters don't think that paper-piecing is REAL quilting, BUT in the broad definition of quilting...it is still cutting big pieces of material into small pieces of material and sewing them back together to make a pretty picture. Isn't that what quilting really is. Of course my great-grandmother would probably have a fit knowing that I go out and buy material to quilt with, not use what was left over from dresses and such. But alas, I am rambling.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I do try to improve these patterns as a travel along with brand new road for me. I am not a professional, just a girl who likes to quilt.
