New Value Rose

So ladies, we have a new value. For those of you that have the Young Women Medalion pattern, this could present a problem. Namely, the roses that go along the top and bottom need to adjusted to make room for the newcomer.

The old rose was approximately 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". We will now reduce that to 3" x 3". Print the 3" rose here.

BUT, as I was playing around with some old medalion layouts from a couple years back, I found one that was actually made for 8 alternating blocks. But since there were only 7 values it didn't work so well. So it was rejected, but now... it's perfect. This is what it looks like.



Don't you love it. I do. This size rose is 9" x 9". The completed size is 55" x 55". Wow, put some borders on it, it is almost twin size quilt instead of a wall hanging.

If you want to make this quilt, the layout is this:
-24 x 24 Young Women Medalion Center (with the seam allowances is 24.5 x 24.5) with
-1.5" inner borders (cut as 2" strips for seam allowances), surrounded by
-sixteen 9" x 9" (likewise 9.5 x 9.5) blocks, 8 of which are the roses. The other 8 are your choice; blank, autograph, or memories squares, whatever.
-outer borders at your design.


You can print out the 9" rose here. You'll need to make copies, so why not just print out all 8!

I haven't had time to sew a this medalion quilt layout with the new roses, YET. This is just a draft of the layout. I would love to have someone send me a picture of this new layout completed.
