Embroidery Stitches

So you want some help with your embroidery.....Here's a short refresher, 'cause you know we all learned these once upon a time in Merry Miss. (Ouch, that dates me!)

Straight Stitch: used for outlining, lettering, and any other non specific details. Simply, needle up from the bottom and down in from the top. Put them real close next to each other, instead of end to end, and you have the satin stitch.

Lazy Daisy Stitch: used for tree leaves and flower petals. Bring the needle up from the bottom. Make a loop and go back in the same hole. Do not pull the loop all the way in. At the peak of the petal, bring the needle up from the bottom, catch the loop and put your needle back in, not exactly in the same hole, but REALLY close.

French Knot: Used for Moroni's head and the ball he stands on, and flower centers. Needle up from the bottom. Wrap the needle 2-3 times with the thread and put the needle back into the material, in almost the same hole.
